Assignment Length: Temp-to-Hire Opportunity
Pay Rate: $18/hr.
Location: Located off of the Beltway/Clay Rd.
Hours: Monday through Friday from 7am – 3:30pm with some OT as needed



Additional Details:
 

·         This person will be unloading items from the truck to their freezer, but they only allow them to do so in 45 min. increments since it is in a freezer

·         During the time they are not unloading items into the freezer, they will be doing shipping & receiving

·         Steel toe boots needed

·         This company does handle KRILL PRODUCTS, so must be comfortable working around shellfish and be OK with a slight odor in the area

·         Should be comfortable working in a freezer

·         Prior warehouse experience with a WMS system is preferred

·         *** MUST HAVE STAND-UP AND SIT-DOWN FORKLIFT EXPERIENCE

Job Purpose:

·         Warehouse Operations is responsible for performing/controlling a combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of product. This may include functions of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, delivery, etc.

·         Also responsible for the efficient flow of products from the point of product receipt from vendors to the shipment of products (via prescribed service parameters) to a variety of internal and external customers

Responsibilities:

·         Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory for all items/products, including but not limited to raw material, finished product and GMP items.

·         Load and unload trucks, wrap products, pack and label shipping and receiving products.

·         Perform preventive maintenance on forklift and truck on a daily basis.

·         Regularly inspect warehouse/freezer for safety hazards, resolve them as appropriate, and or report issues to warehouse supervisor.

·         Accountable for maintaining the physical condition of the warehouse and its equipment.

·         Record Freezer temperatures on the log and report any out of range data.

·         Capable of using and reading measuring equipment as required.

·         Responsible for learning “bag pulling” process and procedure based on current product being produced.

·         Implement knowledge “specifics” of the requested raw material (name, code, and batch) with the adequate quantity per WO (work order) and Warehouse Lead.

·         Make sure the samples are according to internal Safety Operating procedure (SOP).

·         Works closely with QC (Quality Control) to assure conformity of product to customer requirements.

·         Handle the tasks of turning off and locking out equipment when not in use.

·         Make sure that equipment is charged/plugged in, and or off when not in use.

·         Fill out required paperwork, check out form per equipment policy and procedure.

·         Product quality and control verification for raw material, including but not limited to, ensuring that there aren’t any damages/tears/rips and or damaged product/goods are being sent out, or damaged raw material is accepted/checked in.

·         Handle packing of finished product for shipping according to SOP.

·         Work according to the company cGMP’s, Product Safety; hygiene and safety at work; and HSE internal procedures.

·         Transport raw material to warehouse/freezer storage.

·         Follow and abide all State and Federal rules and regulation on waste removal, disposal, waste stream and internal waste procedures.

·         Organize and keep work/warehouse and freezer area, including equipment, clean and up to company quality standards, cGMP's, and HSE standards at all times.

Competences and Desired Qualifications and Skills:

·         Fact-based problem solving, critical thinking skills, including taking the initiative to think “outside of the box” is a plus.

·         Must be able to lift 40 pounds routinely and 70 pounds occasionally; standing 85%+ of the time.

·         Flexibility for rotation schedule and/or weekends, as needed.

·         Must be able to read, write, and speak English.

·         The ability to work “frequently” in harsh climate/temperature changes per FDA rules and regulations, ranging from -10 Fahrenheit up to 90 Fahrenheit.

·         Experience with Microsoft Office Suite of products, data entry, excellent mathematical skills, and knowledge of (Jeeves) ERP, and EWMS systems.

·         Ability to manage multiple tasks of varying priorities in a fast-paced environment.

·         Good computer, data entry, and math skills.

·         Knowledge of inventory control and experience using scanners.

·         Professional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

·         Must maintain a clean and safe work environment.

·         Must be a team player with a great attitude and work ethic, self-directed, and ability to work independently.

·         Prior experience in shipping and receiving preferred.

·         Skills in hygiene, cGMP's, workers hygiene and safety, waste internal procedures.

Work Experience Requirements:

·         Must have 2 to 5 years’ experience operating a Forklift in a manufacturing/plant environment (current and or previous certification highly preferred).

·         Food Manufacturing, cGMP, ERP/WMS system tools.
