Job Description
Burnett is so excited to be partnering with a Texas leader in service-industry uniforms! They have an immediate need for an Order Room Manager (Warehouse/Production Manager) for their San Antonio location. The ideal candidate will have strong warehouse management experience in a production environment. This is an amazing opportunity to join a stable company who values every employee like family! **Please note that this is NOT a climate-controlled environment and the industrial sewing/embroidery machines they use can cause excessive heat.

- Achieve personal/department performance and expense goals within the company’s values and beliefs.
- Make certain that work is processed and all orders are completed on schedule each day in a safe manner with the concept of teamwork.
- Make sure all “Quality Control” procedures are being performed daily.
- Ensure that “New for Used” garment goals are met and maintained while ensuring quality and not wasting resources.
Administrative / Operational
- Supervise start-up in the morning.
- Check the department often to ensure that everything is on schedule and working efficiently.
- Model and coach all employees in the company’s values and beliefs.
- Make certain that all used garments are promptly and properly processed by the Classifier and Stocker persons
- Make sure no obsolete garments are stored in the used garment stock area and that enough working space is available in the used storage area.
- Verify and approve new garments to fill used garment orders.
- Control “New for Used” garment percentages.
- Order all new garments and emblems for new accounts, new garment stockroom, individual garment orders and direct sales as required.
- Make sure new garment freight is broken and processed as soon as possible after arrival; break freight and check goods for new account orders.
- Ensure the “Quality Control Inspection Checklist” is followed before checking each garment order completed.
- Notify the Engineer of repairs or maintenance that is needed on operating equipment.
- Train new employees in using the correct methods in their assigned jobs and oversee their progress.
- Make certain that selective and scheduled cross-training of all personnel is conducted on an ongoing basis.
- Participate in the cross-training of middle managers as required.
- Periodically review work and performance of all department employees on a scheduled basis.
- Make sure all necessary information for daily, weekly, and monthly Order Room production and management reports are compiled and reported as required.
- Make sure that garment inventories are conducted at the end of each month.
- Supervise department employees to see that they are performing their duties in accordance with their job descriptions, continually trying to improve their effectiveness through new training methods.
- Regularly review budget and production performances with department personnel.
- Approve all department production and attendance records.
- See that production standards are established, whenever practical, for each job in the department; measure performance against these standards on a daily basis.
- Ensure the department “Quality Control” inspections are conducted daily on outgoing orders.
- Participate in the Customer SCAT Evaluation Program and SCI to systematically measure department performance.
- Make certain that garment-flow through the Order Room is on time, systematic and controlled to include those items in need of repair or replacement.
- Work in harmony and confer with the Sales, Service, and Office staff concerning department schedules, quality and customer problems.
- Consult with vendors, place orders for merchandise, production and maintenance supplies commensurate with practical inventory levels; maintain control over the merchandise, production and maintenance supply inventory, initial shipments and ensure that they conform to the purchase orders; approve all invoices for payment.
- Make sure merchandise control and security measures are in place and are being enforced.
- Maintain the highest reasonable levels of cleanliness and hygiene within the Order Room.
- Interview, test, select, hire and suggest termination of employment for all department personnel and approve all outside labor contracts dealing with the Order Room
- Properly introduce new employees to the purpose of the company, company philosophy, safety indoctrination, company beliefs & values, and co-workers.
- Participate in the cross-training of middle managers as required
- Maintain training file folders for all department personnel
- Conduct periodic performance evaluations on department personnel
- Make departmental employee wage rate and salary increase recommendations to the General Manager
- Schedule and approve vacations and personal leaves for departmental personnel
- Ensure that all team members are respectful of each other and other departments
- Negotiate and submit department financial goals to the General Manager before each quarter.
- See that the department meets all financial performance goals as might be defined by the budget or business plan.
- Establish standards of productivity, quality, maintenance and housekeeping in consultation with the General Manager and manage the Order Room to meet those standards.
- See that job procedures are defined and documented.
- Keep professionally abreast of the industry via visits to other plants, seminars and other pertinent exposure.
- Standing at all times except during breaks and lunch.
- Moving throughout the department or plant from station to station.
- Reaching above shoulder height.
- Climb up and down stairs.
- Read and understand written communication and information.
- Identify tags by different colors.
- Identify garments by color, fabric content, and size.
- Read Garment work orders, garment labels and emblems.
- Use a computer keyboard, terminal and printer.
- Operate copier including changing ink cartridges and filling paper.
- Retrieve and replace supplies from under – counter cabinets.
- Move garments along 5 ½’ tall garment rail.
- Respond to auditory signals
- Reach overhead to obtain hung garments from rail.
- Reach into 4’ utility hampers.
- Ability to work in temperatures exceeding 100º.
- Unbutton buttoned shirt
- Client location is in Central San Antonio off Hwy 90 (78207 zip).
- Starting salary is $60-$65K, DOE + quarterly bonus structure.
- Excellent benefits and PTO offered (eligible after 60 days).

- Hours are Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm OR 8am-5pm.
