Technical Customer Support Specialist
Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Learn and manage the external customer service process while developing ideas to improve efficiency.
- Identify and recommend policy and process changes aimed at improving production effectiveness, based on insights gained from service issues with current products.
- Build and maintain strong external relationships to ensure open communication with customers.
- Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, or in person, providing technical specifications, pricing, quotes, and additional information as needed.
- Plan, price, and accurately quote service repair jobs based on customer requirements.
- Actively participate in Work in Progress (WIP) meetings by maintaining open communication with service centers and understanding the resources needed to complete jobs effectively.
- Represent customer interests while assisting engineering as needed with product features or defects, both before and after customer drop-off.
- Follow up with customers after service completion to promote ongoing customer satisfaction.
Required Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- 1-2 years of customer service experience, preferably in the parts or automotive industry.
- Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in computer software programs such as Google G-Suite (Gmail, Documents, Drive, Spreadsheets), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, and shop floor control systems.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to pass a post-offer drug screening.
- 3-5 years of customer service experience within the auto parts or automotive industry pref.
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience using Google G-Suite, ERP systems, and shop floor control software pref.
- Basic mechanical knowledge or experience is highly preferred.
- Experience with Syteline ERP software is a plus.
