Job Description

Seeking Technical Big Engineer for a leading provider of custom-designed and manufactured subsea power cables, umbilical systems and marine cables for a broad range of applications. This role is critical in ensuring bids contain accurate costing, meet customers’ technical and commercial specifications, and providing full support to the Tendering and Sales Group.
  • Supports in receiving inquiries and inputting into a transparent database.
  • Reviewing of project specification requirements and initial design requirements to assess the feasibility and manufacturability.
  • Prepares and issues bids, risk registers, and additional documents which require coordinating input from other groups.
  • Works closely with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure that costs included in bids are accurate and represents least cost to the customer.
  • Uses tools in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures including, but not limited to:
    • Autodesk Vault Professional
    • Autodesk Inventor Professional
    • AutoCAD LT
    • Microsoft Office
    • Microsoft SharePoint
    • Visual Enterprise 6 and Visual Enterprise 7
  • Will support in receiving, reviewing, and accepting customer purchase orders and contracts. Upon receipt, will issue customers an Order Acknowledgement confirming order content and delivery schedule.
  • Supports opportunity through Order Acceptance, and ensures proper handover to Operations.
  • Creates and reviews sale orders and cost analysis.
  • Supports development and delivery of monthly KPIs.
  • Will be responsible for designing Houston products sold out of the Americas.
  • Complies with the company’s health and safety policies, ensuring that all work completed is carried out with safety as a priority.
  • Supports the Company initiatives to gain and retain ISO 9001 & 14001 and OSHAs 18001 accreditations. Staff is required to be aware of the Standards and ensure they operate to them.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Engineering degree or relevant technical background experience.
  • Prefer experience in a previous Commercial role and/or environment.
  • Prefer 3+ years Oil & Gas experience, or 3+ years direct Proposal Engineering / Administration.
  • Knowledge of Cables and Umbilical products & systems an advantage but not essential.
