Senior Benefits Analyst
Location: Galleria area in Houston
Work Schedule: In-office only | Flexible hours (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM, or 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
Compensation: $36 – $38/hour
Employment Type: 3-Month Contract (Medical Leave Coverage – potential for long-term placement)
Start Date: ASAP
Interview Process: 30-minute virtual interview followed by in-person meeting with the hiring manager

About the Role:
A leading global organization in the energy and industrial sector is seeking an experienced Senior Benefits Analyst to join their collaborative benefits team. This is a 3-month temporary opportunity to cover a medical leave, with the potential for full-time consideration if the current employee does not return.
In this role, you’ll support U.S.-based corporate employees as well as affiliated entities, ensuring the seamless administration of health, welfare, and retirement plans. You’ll serve as a key liaison with internal stakeholders and external vendors, analyze benefits data, and contribute to ongoing process improvement, compliance, and employee education efforts.
Key Responsibilities:

Serve as a point of contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators

Coordinate data transfers for services, plan administration, and premiums

Manage daily benefits processing including enrollments, terminations, COBRA, and claims

Ensure compliance with ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, and other regulations

Support open enrollment processes, employee communications, and benefits orientation

Maintain benefits records and update employee payroll and group plan information

Analyze plan utilization, costs, and effectiveness; identify areas for improvement

Provide detailed reporting and assist with actuarial evaluations and audits

Monitor and allocate monthly group health and dental claims; prepare related vouchers

Collaborate with finance and HR teams to reconcile benefits billing and budgets

Assist and mentor other Benefits Analysts on the team

Utilize HRIS systems (SuccessFactors preferred), Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables), and other tools

Support internal customers with benefits-related inquiries and requests

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field

6+ years of progressive experience in employee benefits administration

Strong knowledge of federal and state benefits laws and compliance requirements

Experience working with HRIS and benefits databases (SuccessFactors strongly preferred)

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service mindset

Strong analytical and organizational skills; able to manage multiple priorities

CEBS certification is a plus
