Position Overview: The Shipping and Receiving Specialist is responsible for overseeing the shipment and receipt of all products in the oil and gas warehouse. This role demands meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a focus on safety protocols. The specialist will play a key role in coordinating shipments, inspecting received goods, managing inventory levels, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

The specialist will play a key role in coordinating shipments, inspecting received goods, managing inventory levels, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shipping Coordination: Coordinate outbound shipments, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of products to customers. Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading and packing lists. Arrange transportation and liaise with carriers to optimize delivery schedules.
- Receiving Process: Oversee the receiving of incoming shipments. Inspect and verify the quality and quantity of items received against purchase orders. Document any discrepancies and collaborate with vendors to resolve issues promptly.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems (WMS). Monitor stock levels, conduct regular cycle counts, and reconcile discrepancies. Ensure proper storage and organization of products within the warehouse.
- Quality Control: Implement quality control processes to ensure all received products meet industry standards and customer specifications. Conduct inspections and coordinate with suppliers for the replacement of defective or substandard items.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to and enforce safety protocols and regulations related to handling, storage, and transportation of oil and gas products. Ensure all staff involved in shipping and receiving activities follow safety guidelines.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of shipments, receipts, and inventory levels. Generate reports on shipping and receiving activities, providing insights into performance metrics and trends.
- Communication: Collaborate effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and logistics partners. Provide timely updates on shipment statuses, inventory levels, and any issues affecting the shipping and receiving process.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
- Proven experience in shipping, receiving, and inventory management, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and shipping software.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling paperwork and data.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in handling hazardous materials.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
