Senior Payroll and Benefits Lead
Job Description
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage multi-state, multi-entity payroll processing, including bonuses, commissions, benefits, and special deductions
- Review payroll calculations, audits, and approvals to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Maintain payroll and benefits records, reports, and documentation
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll and benefits regulations
- Serve as a payroll and benefits subject-matter resource for employees and managers
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve issues and improve processes
- Audit and reconcile payroll- and benefits-related invoices and reports
- Develop and maintain procedures, checklists, calendars, and job aids
- Support timekeeping accuracy and process improvements
- Provide training and cross-functional support as needed
Required qualifications:
- 5+ years of multi-state payroll experience
- Strong knowledge of payroll compliance, calculations, and reporting
- Experience with payroll systems (UKG/Ultipro preferred)
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and related applications
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
