Senior Estimator - HVAC
Job Description
Senior Estimator Responsibilities:
- Direct and coordinate all estimating activities and personnel.
- Develop bid strategies, review final estimates, and ensure accuracy before submission.
- Evaluate project risk and provide recommendations on markups, margins, and contingencies.
- Lead major mechanical and plumbing project estimates exceeding company thresholds.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, general contractors, and suppliers.
- Provide training, mentorship, and performance feedback to the estimating team.
- Support business development by participating in preconstruction meetings and client interviews.
- Continuously improve estimating procedures, databases, and workflows.
- 10+ years of progressive estimating experience in mechanical and plumbing construction.
- Demonstrated success in leading estimating teams and winning complex bids.
- Deep understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems, materials, and installation practices.
- Advanced knowledge of estimating software, Excel, and takeoff platforms.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline preferred.
