Job Description
To manage electrical design team in the production of high-quality contract documents for the firm’s clients, ensuring that the process fulfills the company vision and mission
Essential Duties and Functions
Manage the firm’s electrical design team, including:
• Direct assignments, goals and outcomes of the electrical team
• Work closely with Principals and other Senior Project Team Leaders to develop
project scope and budget for each client project
• Communicate project scope/budget and assign responsibilities to electrical team
members
• Lead the design development process of electrical components for each client project
• Ensure the successful design, creation and delivery of all electrical AutoCad and Revit
drawings for each client project, including final seal of documents
• Review and approve specifications, shop drawings, addendums and other construction
documents as necessary for electrical-related items
• Review field reports and conduct field inspections of electrical-related items as
necessary
• Work with Human Resources Manager to develop and supervise all electrical team
members
• Participate in career development training as assigned by supervisor or Human
Resources Manager
Required Skills and Knowledge
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• Certified Professional Engineer (P.E.)
• Licensed Engineer in the State of Texas
• 8+ years of experience in a MEP consulting environment
• 4+ years of experience in project management in a MEP consulting environment
• Excellent knowledge of and experience with AutoCad, Revit and Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent knowledge of and experience with building codes
• Demonstrated experience in the design of power distribution, power and lighting, data
networks, telephone and intercom systems, fire alarm systems, security and access
control systems, as well as other standard electrical systems for commercial buildings
