Account Executive
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities with utilities, EPC firms, DOTs, and contractors involved in overhead electrical infrastructure and lighting projects.
- Develop and implement territory sales plans to meet and exceed annual sales targets.
- Attend trade shows, pre-bid meetings, and networking events to increase brand visibility.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, including purchasing managers, engineers, and project developers.
- Provide responsive customer service and technical assistance throughout the bid and project lifecycle.
- Coordinate closely with internal engineering, production, and logistics teams to ensure successful delivery and installation support.
- Present the company’s concrete pole solutions to customers and consultants, emphasizing performance under ANSI, ASTM, and AASHTO standards.
- Analyze project plans and specifications to prepare competitive bids and compliant proposals.
- Advise clients on pole selection, structural loading, and installation practices relative to steel and wood alternatives.
- Support value engineering initiatives that improve customer ROI while maintaining compliance and quality.
- Prepare accurate quotations, pricing proposals, and contracts.
- Manage sales pipeline and client information using CRM tools.
- Collaborate with management on forecasts, budgets, and strategic growth goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or Business (preferred).
- 3–5 years of sales experience in construction materials, precast concrete, or electrical utility products.
- Experience selling to investor-owned utilities (IOUs), public power utilities, co-ops, or DOTs is strongly preferred.
- Technical Knowledge Understanding of ANSI C136, ASTM C1089, and AASHTO design standards for poles and lighting structures.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
- Software Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and basic CAD or drawing review is a plus.
- Willingness to travel regionally or nationally (25–50%). Valid driver’s license required.
Helpful to have:
- Experience coordinating with consulting engineers, DOT procurement offices, and utility project managers.
- Knowledge of NESC (National Electrical Safety Code) requirements for pole design and installation.
- Self-starter with a strong sense of accountability and a track record of meeting or exceeding quotas.
