Title: Real Estate & Right-of-Way (ROW) Agent
Location: Energy Corridor, near Eldridge/Memorial
Length: Temporary position lasting 9-12 months
Schedule: This is a 9/80 schedule with 1 remote day a week
Pay Rate: $45-50/hr., DOE

Position Summary: The Real Estate & Right-of-Way Specialist is responsible for managing a variety of land, property, and right-of-way functions in support of organizational operations and infrastructure initiatives. This role oversees negotiations and administration of agreements related to acquisitions, dispositions, leases, easements, and other property interests. The position also supports contract management systems, maintains official property records, and coordinates financial activities associated with real estate transactions and obligations. Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and interpret real estate agreements and property-related obligations to ensure compliance with contractual requirements. Coordinate activities necessary to maintain property rights and contractual commitments, including:
    • Evaluating legal and property documentation for completeness and accuracy.
    • Managing lease, rental, and easement payments to preserve property interests.
    • Determining applicable rates, fees, and invoicing requirements.
    • Coordinating recurring payment processes and financial tracking.
    • Ensuring proper accounting treatment for all property-related transactions.
  • Provide support and maintenance for the organization’s property management database and related systems. Troubleshoot system issues, recommend enhancements, test solutions, and assist with process automation and reporting functions.
  • Negotiate and manage transactions involving land acquisitions, dispositions, right-of-way agreements, lease renewals, easements, property disputes, and other real estate matters with external parties and stakeholders.
  • Identify and implement process improvements related to the storage, retrieval, maintenance, and digitization of permanent real estate and land records.
  • Coordinate the preparation, recording, and maintenance of deeds, titles, easements, and other official property documents.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external parties to help mitigate risk exposure through appropriate insurance documentation and compliance requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Real Estate, Land Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Professional certification in Right-of-Way, Land Administration, or related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in real estate, land, or right-of-way services; equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • Strong understanding of real estate terminology, legal documents, and contract administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to draft, review, and negotiate contracts independently.
  • Experience with property management systems, databases, and financial tracking tools.
  • Knowledge of right-of-way acquisition, easements, and eminent domain/condemnation processes.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned based on operational needs.
