Job Description – Project Manager
This position will independently perform engineering and project assignments with clear and specified objectives involving all types of engineering construction plans, surveys, and site investigations related to development or municipal services. Exercise of engineering judgement is required on details of work and in making project decisions and adaptations of engineering alternatives. This position leads a design team, organizing, executing and coordinating project design, and construction contract documents. Candidate must be able to follow directives provided by the Firm Principals, have a strong understanding of project sequencing from preliminary design to construction, be able to set priorities, assist in the preparation of project schedules, and be willing to work on multiple projects in a team-based environment focused on the timely delivery of quality projects. The position requires strong communication with team members, clients, contractors, and governmental agencies.
Required Education/Licenses:
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
• Registered P.E. in Texas with minimum of 7 years industry experience Qualifications of Candidate:
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Programs and AutoCAD.
• Knowledgeable of engineering principles.
• Proven strong project management and leadership skills with the ability to take ownership of projects and follow through to completion and achievement of goals.
• Experience in coordination with government agencies on all aspects of a project, including plan reviews.
• Able to problem solve and work independently, as well as part of a team.
• Able to provide clear direction to other team members to keep a project on schedule.
• Able to work through technical obstacles by determining viable engineering solutions and providing reasoning as to the correct approach.
• Possess excellent and professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Maintain professional appearance and behavior.
• Well organized and detail oriented.
• Mentors and guides less experienced staff in a professional and educational manner.
• Identifies and seeks resolution to personnel issues related to team members.
• Ability to interact professionally with staff, clients, and outside consultants in a manner compatible with Company policies and expectations.

• Responsible for assigned projects, including meeting delivery schedules and budget. Must be able to lead a team of drafters, designers, E.I.T.s, and Engineers.

• Provides guidance and is responsible for the design approach for projects of all sizes.
• Responsible for the engineering design of projects based on area of specialization.
• Coordinates with other disciplines and outside consultants as required.
• Shows a high level of understanding of construction administration and the construction phase process.
• Participate in the construction administration process by responding to RFI’s, reviewing contractor submittals, and attending meetings in the field.
• Shows a high level of understanding of governmental, public, and private development codes and ordinances.
• Responsible for conceptualizing the initial design approach for a project and overall responsibility for the engineering work on a project of limited scope.
• Prepares client proposals, budgets, and schedules.
• Assists and/or creates plans, schedules, construction contract documents, and technical specifications.
• Conducts and coordinates engineering work involving conventional engineering practices.
• Reviews and approves invoices.
• Participates in marketing endeavors.
• Trains and mentors graduate engineers, plan production staff, and E.I.T.s. Supervisory Responsibility This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the company.
