Job Description
Large, Stable, Growing Manufacturing company in Northwest Houston has an immediate need for a Production Manager
The Production Manager will provide leadership and technical support to direct, develop, and facilitate the training of a large, primarily Spanish-speaking hourly population. The Production Manager will oversee and manage all product manufacturing and chemical batching processes.
The Production Manager will ensure additional output is delivered following our quality standards and customer-focused values and will also support other manufacturing business units and other supporting departments regarding leadership, safety, continuous improvement, quality, maintenance, employee engagement, and customer satisfaction.
This is an on-site salaried position with regular business hours Monday – Friday. Additional hours will be assigned depending on projects and business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage the department's daily packaging workflow with Leads and production team members. This may include chemical batching and Tank Farm operations.
• Create and manage production schedules based on daily work order completions by Leads
• Ensure all safety and Quality protocols are adhered to. This involves conducting regular audits, training, and providing constructive feedback to team members
• Facilitate housekeeping, maintenance, and equipment repairs through the maintenance department
• Drive compliance with all the company’s policies and procedures
• Participate/lead investigations and root cause analysis to develop solutions that address production and customer-related issues
• Communicate any problems or obstacles to senior management with proposed solutions
• Develop solutions that focus on reducing operating costs and increasing productivity across all processes
• Monitor and improve productivity through continuous improvement processes and projects
• Provide effective performance evaluations and handle employee disciplinary actions following company policies and procedures
• Perform other related duties as directed
Minimum Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, business, or operations management or a minimum of five years of work history in an operations management role in lieu of education.
• Chemical Batching Experience in a Production Environment
• Microsoft Suite with a focus on MS Excel
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and night shifts
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds Skills and Competencies: • Excellent managerial and supervisory skills
• Extensive knowledge of operations and production management
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team
• Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on continuous improvement
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills
• Bilingual in Spanish
• Experience with JD Edwards (Oracle) ERP system
• Experience with large, diverse manufacturing operations
