Procurement Buyer (Temporary)
Location: The Woodlands, TX
Duration: Minimum 6-Month Assignment
Schedule: Monday – Friday, Business Hours
Compensation: Competitive, based on experience

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Buyer with a strong background in sourcing, purchasing, and contract administration to support a growing supply chain team. This role is ideal for professionals with extensive experience managing procurement activities, supplier relationships, contract compliance, and purchasing processes within the energy, offshore, marine, or oilfield services industries.

This position will work closely with Operations, Logistics, Legal, Finance, and Project Teams to support procurement activities, contract management, vendor performance, and supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support sourcing and procurement activities for both operational and corporate spending categories.
  • Prepare and issue RFQs and RFPs, evaluate supplier proposals, and assist with vendor selection.
  • Manage purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and goods receipt processes in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Assist with drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and administering contracts, amendments, and purchase agreements.
  • Coordinate contract reviews and approval workflows with internal stakeholders and legal teams.
  • Maintain contract documentation, version control, and records management processes.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, internal controls, audit requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain accurate procurement and contract documentation to support audit readiness.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing supporting documentation and explanations.
  • Resolve vendor-related issues including invoice discrepancies, delivery delays, and contract compliance concerns.
  • Monitor supplier performance and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify and escalate procurement, supplier, contractual, and commercial risks.
  • Support mitigation strategies related to supply chain disruptions, contractual liabilities, and vendor performance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or contracts experience.
  • Experience within offshore, marine, oilfield services, energy, or related industries strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes, contract administration, compliance requirements, and audit controls.
  • Experience supporting both operational and corporate procurement activities.
  • Strong understanding of contract fundamentals and supplier management.
  • Familiarity with INCOTERMS.
  • Experience utilizing ERP systems, preferably SAP S/4HANA or similar procurement platforms.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Professional certifications in Procurement, Sourcing, or Contract Management are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Marine or fleet procurement experience.
  • Experience working in highly regulated environments with strong compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
