What We Expect From You:
We are seeking a full-time Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal to join our growing legal team. The ideal Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal candidate will be responsible for administering legal and operational aspects of managing a healthy personal injury caseload. Candidates should be able to manage coordinating with the department leadership and attorney as this role helps to develop, implement, and supervise efficient procedures designed to successfully handle critical levels of department caseload. Qualified candidates must possess excellent communication skills, strong organizational skills and a professional appearance. Candidates must also thrive under pressure when talking with clients and be charismatic.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Drafting discovery through knowledge of TRCP rules (i.e., 18.001’s, TRCP 203, Business record affidavits, etc.)
· Develop and implement changes to work-flow to optimize handling of high-volume cases
· Review injury and usage aspects of legal claims
· Order, review, and summarize medical records
· Handle workflow of cases in case management system
· Draft and send correspondence and legal communications
· Gather, organize, and analyze critical case data and factual information
· Conduct detailed client intakes
· Uphold confidentiality of highly-sensitive client information
· Draft correspondence including, Letters of representation, Notice of claims, Notice of Intentions, Bills of Particulars, responses to demands
· Research medical and legal literature
· Locate and interview medical experts
· Serve as a liaison between law firms, medical experts and other parties
· Contact Clients and opposing firms regarding examinations under oath and court calendar matters
· Assist in trial preparation, including organizing and preparing trial exhibits, trial notebooks and binders
· Organize client correspondence, prepare mailings and handle high call volume
· Assist attorneys with client depositions
· Preparation of trial-notebooks
· Managing litigation docket by taking ownership of files
· Assisting attorneys in preparation for hearings and trials
· Providing administrative support for attorneys in court and office
· Requesting reduction requests from medical providers
· Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
· Personal Injury legal experience: 2+ years (Required)
· Paralegal experience: 2+ years (Required)
· Experience and willingness to file cases in Federal Court (strong consideration will be given to those with experience filing in various Federal Courts)
· Client-oriented with excellent customer service skills
· Experience with case management and document management
· Team leadership and supervisory experience
· Ability to adhere to strict deadlines
· Strong communication skills
· Demonstrated computer skills including ability to learn new programs
· Ability to handle multiple priorities
· Able to work independently with minimal supervision
· Excellent analytic and organizational skills with a strong attention to detail
· Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
· Experience with any Billing Software
· Excellent Proofreading Skills
· Knowledge of Standard Office Methods and Equipment
· Ability to Maintain Strict Confidentiality
· Ability to Manage Time and Tasks Effectively
· Solid Interpersonal Skills Proficient in all MS Office applications
Educational Requirements:
· High School Diploma or equivalent
