Payroll Assistant Manager

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Assistant Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in payroll processing, with a strong preference for individuals with a background in the automotive industry or significant exposure to multi-state payroll operations within a large US organization. Responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Manage payroll operations for employees across various states, ensuring compliance with state-specific regulations.
- Address any issues related to taxation, wage and hour laws, and other state-specific payroll considerations.
- Collaborate closely with the HR department to ensure seamless integration between payroll and HR functions.
- Provide expertise and support on all payroll matters.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Address any discrepancies or issues identified during audits promptly.
- Generate and analyze payroll reports to provide insights into payroll trends, costs, and other relevant metrics.
- Serve as back-up to the Payroll Manager.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in payroll processing.
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant field.
- Previous experience in the automotive industry or a large US organization with multi-state operations is highly preferred.
- Previous experience managing a large team (10-35).
- Comfortable processing high-volume payroll.
- In-depth knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
