Job Description

Position: PI Legal Assistant
Location: Midland, TX

Essential Job Functions:
- Will be responsible for managing cases, busy calendars, and constantly evolving schedules which include coordinating depositions and mediations, or meetings and events. Familiarity with e-filing in state and federal courts in Texas, docketing deadlines, and trial preparation are also required.
- Prepare and revise a wide variety of documents, including correspondence, memoranda, and legal materials. Responsible for proofreading and correctly formatting all materials.
- Schedule depositions & mediations and prepare hearing notebooks. Assist in trial preparation as needed. Process expense reports. Receive, place, and screen telephone calls as required. Schedule conference calls, and coordinate/ schedule travel.
- Identify and calendar all incoming discovery requests, briefs, motions, and court appearances.
- Aid other Legal Secretaries within assigned teams whenever necessary to meet Firm and client needs. Organize and prioritize workload to enable and facilitate team effort to accomplish Firm and client goals most efficiently.
