Position: HR Specialist

Pay: $37.50—$40.39/hour

Parking: NOT COVERED 

Hours: 8am—5pm (HYBRID—2 days WFH after 2—3 weeks of training)

Type: 3—6 months contract but could possibly convert down the line.

  

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Human Resources Specialist will work collaboratively with the Human Resources Manager providing human resources support to our employees. This position will support a broad range of human resource processes with a focus on HRIS maintenance, HR Analytics, recruitment, onboarding, and policy interpretation. This is a “hands on” position that requires strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

TARGETED OUTCOMES
  • Partner with HR Manager and department leaders to help assess and grow the leadership capability of front-line leaders through continued hands-on training regarding HR Systems, processes and payroll
  • Support efforts to bring new talent into the organization by ensuring a successful candidate experience and an effective selection process
  • Partner with HR team to identify and implement HR process improvement opportunities.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Human Resources
  • Responsible for site onboarding processes including:
    • Administration of pre-employment procedures
    • Liaison with the Medical Department to schedule drug screening and functional capacity examination if needed
  • Track and maintain all records and employee files, ensuring that the site is compliant with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Company policies
  • Act as a point of contact for employees’ issues and inquiries related to: all HRIS, payroll, benefits, employee relocation, and Company policies interpretation. Work hand-in-hand with Centers of Excellence partners in resolving problems related to the above-mentioned issues
  • Partner with the ESSH and learning departments and assist in scheduling, administering and conducting the New Employee Orientation Program
  • Maintain sensitive and confidential matters and protect the security of information/data and files including I-9 records and other regulatory employment records
  • Manage all HRIS-related data, systems, and records accurately and in a timely fashion while ensuring compliance
  • Oversee the administration of the hourly progression steps and liaise with the FLLs on matters relating to on-the-job re-certification requirements and the timing period associated with it
  • Reporting, analysis, and process improvement:
    • Generate HR Metrics and reports for analysis and decision making
    • Identify opportunities to enhance HR processes
    • Participate in providing workforce demographic data for selected wage surveys and governmental reporting

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Act as a resource for various state and federal laws applicable to employee benefits (including but not limited to) ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA, COBRA and ADA
  • Coordinate and execute benefits roll-out programs at the site level
  • Provide support of the Company’s compensation programs including broad-based compensation, annual compensation review, and general analysis
  • Submit all HR Workday transactions including payroll for assigned site
  • Support weekly timecard review and approval for bi-weekly payroll processing

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or equivalent
  • Experience online employment application systems
  • Experience in HRIS data systems and administration

Desired Certification
  • PHR/SPHR

REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Detail oriented and strong analytical skills
  • Customer-focused
  • Sound knowledge of US employment laws and practices, including but not limited to FMLA, FLSA, and Payroll
  • Excellent ability to effectively use Microsoft applications
  • Ability to work effectively in ambiguous situations in a collaborative/inclusive fashion
  • Listen actively to others and assimilate their input and views
  • Respect and relate well to others from varied backgrounds
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times
