  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (subject to confirmation)
  • Pay Rate: $31.25/hour ($65,000 annualized)
  • Assignment Length: Immediate start through March 31, 2027

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused HR Operations Specialist to support employee and candidate experiences through efficient HR operations, system administration, and frontline support. This role serves as a key resource for handling employee inquiries, supporting HR technology platforms, maintaining data accuracy, and delivering exceptional customer service.

 

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Workday and/or ServiceNow.

Candidates without ServiceNow experience must have prior exposure to a case management, ticketing, shared services, or intake environment.

 

This position will also play an important role in supporting the implementation and adoption of a new enterprise Case Management tool by partnering with HR, IT, and cross-functional teams to improve workflows, automate processes, and build a scalable knowledge base for end users.

 

Key Responsibilities

HR Operations & Employee Support
  • Provide first-level support for employee and HR Technology inquiries through shared inboxes, chat platforms, and case management systems.
  • Resolve or escalate employee questions while ensuring a positive customer experience.
  • Manage employee verification requests.
  • Support incoming calls and correspondence related to unemployment claims.

HR Systems & Data Management
  • Initiate and approve Workday transactions for assigned employee populations.
  • Audit Workday and HR system data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
  • Maintain organizational structures, locations, and related HR technology data.
  • Assist with HR system enhancements, testing, upgrades, and data validation.
  • Generate basic reports within Workday and other HR systems.

Onboarding & Offboarding Support
  • Collect, review, and upload new hire documentation into Workday.
  • Enter new hire information using Personnel Information Forms (PIFs).
  • Process onboarding transactions and one-time payments as required.
  • Support employee offboarding processes and related system updates.
  • Coordinate work authorization processes for new and existing employees.

Recruiting & HR Programs Support
  • Assist with job requisition postings and approval processes.
  • Support annual HR initiatives including:
    • Benefits enrollment
    • Performance review cycles
    • Compensation review processes
  • Manage employee referral award documentation and related Workday transactions.

Documentation & Process Improvement
  • Create and maintain user-friendly HR self-service documentation.
  • Develop and support HR knowledge base content to improve employee self-service capabilities.
  • Participate in special projects related to Workday, HR technology, and process improvements.
  • Support department logistics, events, supplies, and technology coordination.

Financial & Administrative Support
  • Process department invoices and payments, including staffing agency and background check vendor invoices.

 

Qualifications

Required Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in HR Operations, HR Shared Services, HRIS, Employee Services, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of Workday and/or ServiceNow.
  • If no ServiceNow experience, prior experience working in a case management, ticketing, help desk, shared services, or intake environment is required.

Preferred Education
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

Michelle has been with Burnett since 2011 and is currently working as the Operations Manager in the Greenway/ Downtown division. She manages the temp operations staff as well as the direct hire consultants in the office. While at Burnett, she has worked her way up from a Staff Assistant to Staffing Manager to Operations Manager.
