Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the HR function and support the organization’s overall workforce strategy. Reporting to the President, this role will lead HR programs and initiatives across employee relations, performance management, recruitment and onboarding, training and development, benefits, compensation, compliance, and employee support.

The HR Manager will partner closely with leadership and managers to address employee and organizational needs, ensure compliance with employment laws, and develop HR practices that support employee engagement, productivity, retention, and workforce development. This position will also supervise HR staff and provide guidance on complex HR matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise the HR team, including hiring, scheduling, training, development, performance management, and disciplinary actions.
  • Oversee employee relations matters, including investigations, workplace concerns, disciplinary actions, performance issues, promotions, leave, and employee grievances.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, employee relations, and workplace matters.
  • Oversee the company’s performance management process, including performance reviews, development plans, and employee self-assessments.
  • Partner with leadership and Talent Acquisition to develop and implement effective recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and retention strategies.
  • Develop, update, implement, and communicate HR policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Support employee training, development, retention initiatives, staffing needs, and workforce planning.
  • Oversee administration of employee benefits programs and assist with plan evaluation, renewals, vendor relationships, and cost-containment opportunities.
  • Manage relationships with external HR consultants, benefits brokers, retirement plan administrators, and other HR service providers.
  • Partner with Accounting on payroll-related matters, including compensation changes, benefit deductions, 401(k) administration, leave tracking, payroll reconciliation, and employee inquiries.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable federal and state employment laws and regulations, including EEO, ERISA, FLSA, and FMLA requirements.
  • Partner with Legal to address HR compliance matters and ensure policies and practices remain current and effective.
  • Conduct compensation and market research to evaluate pay practices and ensure competitive and compliant compensation programs.
  • Partner with Health, Safety & Environmental teams to support company safety initiatives and related reporting requirements.
  • Maintain accurate employee and training records and support HR audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare HR reports, analyze workforce data and trends, and provide recommendations to leadership.
  • Stay current on employment laws, HR best practices, and regulatory developments.
  • Participate in interviews and support special projects and other HR initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience with significant experience in employee relations, compensation, recruitment, training and development, compliance, and workforce planning.
  • Prior HR supervisory or leadership experience required.
  • Experience within the oilfield services or energy industry preferred.
  • Experience administering HRIS, payroll, benefits, and timekeeping systems required.
  • Paylocity experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with self-funded employee benefit plans, benefits brokers, and plan renewals strongly preferred.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.
  • Experience working in an ISO environment is a plus.
