Human Resources (HR) Manager  Salary: $120k-150k base  Location: Galleria - in office  Parking paid  Benefits 
Position Overview: The HR Manager will oversee all human resources activities for the law firm, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, and compliance with employment laws. This role is pivotal in fostering a positive work environment, ensuring that the firm attracts, develops, and retains top legal talent.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Recruitment and Staffing:
    • Develop and execute recruitment strategies to attract top legal and support talent.
    • Manage the hiring process, including job postings, interviewing, and onboarding.
    • Partner with legal and administrative departments to understand staffing needs and job specifications.

  2. Employee Relations:
    • Act as a point of contact for employee concerns and grievances.
    • Mediate conflicts and facilitate resolutions to ensure a harmonious work environment.
    • Implement and promote employee engagement and wellness programs.

  3. Performance Management:
    • Develop and maintain performance appraisal systems.
    • Provide guidance on performance management issues and disciplinary actions.
    • Assist in setting goals and expectations for staff and partners.

  4. Compensation and Benefits:
    • Administer employee compensation and benefits programs, including salary reviews and adjustments.
    • Manage health, retirement, and other employee benefit plans.
    • Conduct market research to ensure competitive compensation packages.

  5. Compliance and Policy Development:
    • Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations, including employment standards and health and safety.
    • Develop, implement, and update HR policies and procedures in line with legal requirements and best practices.
    • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.

  6. Training and Development:
    • Identify training needs and develop or source training programs.
    • Organize and conduct orientation and professional development programs.
    • Foster a culture of continuous learning and career development.

  7. HR Administration:
    • Oversee HR systems and processes, ensuring efficient operation and accurate data management.
    • Prepare and maintain HR reports and analytics.
    • Manage HR-related projects and initiatives.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in HR
  • Previous experience in a law firm or professional services environment is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and legal compliance.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
