Job Description

General Ledger Accountant- Houston, TX 77046 Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger accurately and in a timely manner. 
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data. 
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports. 
  • Prepare and file various tax returns, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. 
  • Maintain schedules related to debt, interest, and fees, ensuring accurate recording and reporting. 
  • Assist in the annual audit process by providing necessary documentation and explanations. 
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve accounting discrepancies and issues. 
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and standards to ensure compliance. 
  • Provide support in other accounting and finance-related tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 
  • 1-2 years of experience in accounting or finance roles. 
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite, particularly Excel. 
  • Experience with Sage Intacct or similar accounting software preferred. 
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting principles and practices. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
