Job Description


Ideally, this employer is looking for someone that's a Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Energy Auditor (CEA), or has an Energy Management Professional (EMP) certification or Building Performance Institute (BPI) certification.  These are accreditations that focus on the type of energy modeling that they  need for 179D and 45L. This team is using eQuest software, but there are other similar programs available and approved by the Department of Energy.  This company is also interested in  licensed P.E.'s in Mechanical Engineering with experience doing energy modeling for commercial buildings.

This role comes with a competitive base salary, is bonus eligible and is a fully remote role with up to 20% travel.  You can live anywhere in the US except Washington and Michigan, this company has those markets fully covered.  Additional benefits include  three weeks vacation, this employer pays for  90% of the employees benefits, and there is a strong  401(k) matching program. 





JOB DESCRIPTION

Our Energy Engineering Specialist will prepare documentation related to energy efficient building incentives (179D and 45L).  This individual will run studies from start to finish and collect data, conduct client interviews, analyze large data sets, perform technical tax law research, and create final deliverables.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform energy efficiency analyses using DOE approved building design and analysis software programs. 
  • Conduct interviews with client personnel and conduct onsite visits as needed.
  • Request and review information / documentation needed to complete energy evaluations. 
  • Review constructions drawings, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing specifications, field notes and photographs to complete efficiency evaluations. 
  • Assist with quality assurance, engagement review and tax authority examination support.
  • Organize documentation to create final deliverables for clients.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • 3-5 years 179D and 45L energy modeling experience required.
  • 3-5 years energy modeling software experience required.
