Key Responsibilities:
Dispatch Operations:
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate the dispatch of cement products to meet customer demands while optimizing resources.
- Monitor daily dispatch activities to ensure timely loading and delivery of cement.
- Allocate trucks and drivers to specific routes and orders, considering factors such as distance, delivery windows, and vehicle capacity.
- Track and maintain real-time information on shipments, including order status, delivery times, and any potential delays.
Team Management:
- Supervise a team of dispatch coordinators, dispatchers, and administrative staff.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and training to ensure staff efficiency and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Conduct performance evaluations and implement corrective actions as needed.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Ensure all dispatch-related documents, such as bills of lading, delivery receipts, and shipping manifests, are accurately completed and filed.
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports on dispatch operations, including performance metrics, inventory levels, and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain effective communication with customers, addressing their inquiries, concerns, and special requests related to deliveries.
- Resolve delivery issues promptly and professionally, collaborating with other departments as necessary.
Safety and Compliance:
- Enforce safety protocols and regulations to ensure a secure working environment for dispatch personnel and drivers.
- Ensure that all drivers adhere to traffic laws and safety standards during transit.
- Keep up-to-date with transportation regulations and industry standards, implementing necessary changes to stay compliant.
- Identify opportunities to enhance dispatch operations, streamline processes, and reduce costs.
- Implement improvements and best practices to optimize the dispatch department's performance.
- Proven experience in dispatch operations, with a background in cement or similar bulk material industries preferred.
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.
- Proficiency in using dispatch software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
