As our Director of Compliance, you'll play a critical role in safeguarding our operations by ensuring adherence to all applicable laws and regulations. You'll partner directly with senior leadership, lead cutting-edge compliance initiatives, and manage complex regulatory frameworks, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), and international compliance programs. What You’ll Do:
- Be the voice of compliance — Deliver regular updates and reports to Senior Management, keeping them informed of regulatory progress and operational risks.
- Stay ahead of the game — Monitor and adapt to evolving federal, state, and international laws impacting insurance and financial services.
- Lead regulatory responses — Handle market conduct inquiries, regulatory exams, and manage resolutions to compliance challenges.
- Identify and mitigate risks — Proactively spot vulnerabilities and implement smart, effective corrective action plans.
- Own the audit process — Coordinate internal and external audits and manage responses to findings.
- Modernize our tools — Implement and manage innovative compliance software solutions.
- Champion anti-financial crime measures — Oversee BSA/AML policies, review suspicious activity investigations, and file reports as necessary.
- Craft policies that matter — Maintain up-to-date compliance policies and procedures that align with best practices and legal requirements.
- Experience: 5+ years in compliance within financial services, preferably insurance. Strong BSA/AML/OFAC background is essential.
- Certifications: ACAMS preferred (or a clear path toward it).
- Knowledge: Strong familiarity with FINRA/SEC regulations, state insurance laws, anti-money laundering frameworks, and compliance technologies.
- Skills: Advanced Excel, proficiency in compliance tools (SERFF, LexisNexis, NAIC), exceptional communication, and a knack for critical thinking.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Business, or Government (Master’s preferred).
- Experience with Association and Group insurance products.
- Prior collaboration with regulatory agencies.
- Expertise in maintaining BSA/AML Compliance policies.
