Corporate Accountant - CPA Required

We are representing a great privately held family office managing the financial, investment, and operational affairs of a high-net-worth family that is hiring a Corporate Accountant. The office oversees diverse asset portfolios, estate planning, philanthropic initiatives, and business interests while ensuring long-term financial growth and legacy preservation.  

The Corporate Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day accounting functions for corporate entities maintained in QuickBooks on a GAAP basis.  This includes preparation of financial statements, cash management, invoicing, bill pay, payroll processing and management of the audits.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintains and records transactions in the general ledger for all corporate entities
  • Responsible for accounts payable and bill pay
  • Prepares financial statements in an accurate and timely manner
  • Manages audit process for corporate entities with external auditors
  • Prepares budgets, variance analysis and cash forecasts
  • Coordinates retention of accounting, insurance and legal records for corporate entities
  • Ensures corporate insurance is properly maintained  
  • Tax reporting for corporate entities, including property tax renditions and 1099 reporting
  • Coordination and review of federal and state tax returns, including quarterly estimates, with outside tax advisors
  • Processes payroll
  • Responsible for fixed assets and hardware/software inventory
  • Preparation of board level financial presentations
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Minimum Bachelor Degree in Accounting, CPA and 10 years of related experience  
  • Sound understanding of GAAP, strong general ledger knowledge and business judgement
  • Proficiency in accounting software systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team player in a client service environment
  • Highly ethical, strong reasoning, sound judgment and professional appearance and demeanor
  • Proactive in planning and thinking
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of client and employee data
  • Stable work history  
  • Acceptable credit and background check
