Family Office - Corporate Accountant
Job Description
The Corporate Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day accounting functions for corporate entities maintained in QuickBooks on a GAAP basis. This includes preparation of financial statements, cash management, invoicing, bill pay, payroll processing and management of the audits.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains and records transactions in the general ledger for all corporate entities
- Responsible for accounts payable and bill pay
- Prepares financial statements in an accurate and timely manner
- Manages audit process for corporate entities with external auditors
- Prepares budgets, variance analysis and cash forecasts
- Coordinates retention of accounting, insurance and legal records for corporate entities
- Ensures corporate insurance is properly maintained
- Tax reporting for corporate entities, including property tax renditions and 1099 reporting
- Coordination and review of federal and state tax returns, including quarterly estimates, with outside tax advisors
- Processes payroll
- Responsible for fixed assets and hardware/software inventory
- Preparation of board level financial presentations
- Other duties as assigned
- Minimum Bachelor Degree in Accounting
- 10 years of related experience
- CPA is a plus, not required
- Sound understanding of GAAP, strong general ledger knowledge and business judgement
- Proficiency in accounting software systems and Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team player in a client service environment
- Highly ethical, strong reasoning, sound judgment and professional appearance and demeanor
- Proactive in planning and thinking
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of client and employee data
- Stable work history
- Acceptable credit and background check
