Job Description


We are partnering with a private equity firm with over 500 mm in assets who has founded a new company in Austin who is a multi-site owner, operator, and business partner to companies in the automotive industry.  It allows the companies to operate independently while providing resources and assistance in business operations. These include access to professional marketing, inventory management expertise, purchasing power, collaborative synergies, and financial resources.  The company currently has deals under LOI and substantial committed capital to grow over the next several years.

 

Position Summary

 

The Financial Controller will be a critical leader with overall ownership for building a highly scalable multi entity automotive services organization.  This individual will be a key partner to the senior leadership team and will implement best practices across the platform to ensure integrity within the financial metrics.  

 

Key Deliverables

 
  • Monthly close package deliverables prepared in accordance with U.S. GAAP and accounting guidelines
  • Best-in-class customer service
  • Annual Audit
  • Adherence to internal policies, procedures, and controls
  • Lead and develop best in class team to provide support services to local partner companies which may include centralized accounting operations, systems admin etc.

 

Position Responsibilities

 
  • Drive the month-end and year-end close processes ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timeliness in delivered financials with account reconciliations and journal entry support
  • Ensure all entities are in compliance with accounting guidelines and U.S. GAAP
  • Review financial statements to identify trends and potential accounting issues
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of accounting for top tier entities
  • Ensure all technical accounting issues are considered and addressed appropriately
  • Develop accounting processes /best practices for partner companies 
  • Develop, fine tune and implement robust month-end and year-end close processes
  • Ensure local partner accounting teams are adequately supported to ensure financial reporting is accurate
  • Coordinate annual audit to ensure clean opinion
  • Manage, train and mentor team members

 

Position Requirements

 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting / Finance or related discipline
  • Active CPA license
  • 7-10+ years of applicable experience with multi entity rapid acquisition companies
  • Public accounting experience (strongly preferred)
  • Full cycle accounting, strong knowledge of GAAP
