Construction Project Accountant - Houston, TX 77041
We are actively seeking a Project Accountant with proven experience in AIA billing, project accounting, and commercial construction. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial tracking, billing, and reporting across multiple construction projects. The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of 4–5 years of hands-on experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers.

We are actively seeking a Project Accountant with proven experience in AIA billing, project accounting, and commercial construction. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial tracking, billing, and reporting across multiple construction projects. The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of 4–5 years of hands-on experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and process AIA billing and other progress billings in compliance with contract terms
- Maintain and monitor project budgets, costs, and job cost reporting
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate cost coding and financial tracking
- Manage subcontractor payments, lien waivers, and compliance documents
- Assist in monthly project closeout, reconciliations, and reporting
- Track change orders, retention, and committed costs
- Ensure timely and accurate financial documentation for audits and internal reviews
- Support general accounting functions as needed
- Minimum of 4–5 years of project accounting experience in the commercial construction industry
- Strong knowledge of AIA billing procedures
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Acumatica, Sage 300, Viewpoint, Procore, or similar)
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus but not required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is a plus, but not required
