Job Description

Commercial Operations Specialist An energy organization is seeking a Commercial Operations Specialist to support end-to-end coordination of LNG cargo activities and related hydrocarbon sales. This role plays a critical part in ensuring smooth execution of supply, logistics, and commercial transactions while maintaining strong communication with internal teams and international partners.
Duties:

LNG Logistics & Scheduling
  • Coordinate long-term and short-term cargo lifting schedules in partnership with global affiliates and terminal operators
  • Manage schedule updates, changes, and operational disruptions while maintaining continuous alignment across stakeholders
  • Monitor cargo volumes, inventory positions, and operational variances (e.g., fuel, loss, and balancing metrics)
  • Ensure contractual obligations are met through timely notices, reporting, and analysis
  • Act as a key liaison for cross-regional teams, including participation in regular coordination calls
Hydrocarbon Sales & Allocation
  • Oversee the scheduling and execution of hydrocarbon product liftings
  • Track production volumes and allocate sales across multiple counterparties
  • Coordinate transportation logistics and nomination planning
  • Partner with finance teams to monitor credit exposure and ensure compliance with payment protections
  • Support long-term continuity and efficiency of sales operations
Marine & Cargo Operations
  • Track vessel movements, arrival timelines, and pre-arrival requirements
  • Coordinate ship compatibility reviews, vetting processes, and documentation readiness
  • Support cargo documentation processes, including surveyor report reviews
  • Maintain detailed shipment records and assist in demurrage calculations
  • Participate in on-call rotations to support urgent operational needs
Commercial Systems & Data Management
  • Input and maintain transaction data within trading and risk management platforms
  • Update forecasts and reconcile actual cargo volumes post-lifting
  • Create and validate transaction records for cargoes and logistics services
  • Troubleshoot system issues and ensure data accuracy across platforms
General Operations & Reporting
  • Maintain organized repositories of contracts, correspondence, and operational data
  • Support close-out processes for cargoes and shipments
  • Assist with internal reporting and stakeholder communications
  • Participate in emergency response and business continuity initiatives
Regulatory & Compliance
  • Ensure timely completion of export filings and regulatory documentation
  • Support compliance with applicable energy and trade reporting requirements
  • Maintain accurate reporting records and coordinate across internal teams


Required:
  • Experience in energy, commodities, logistics, or a similar operational environment
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with high attention to detail
  • Background in LNG, natural gas, or energy trading operations
  • Experience with ETRM or comparable systems
  • Familiarity with marine logistics, terminal operations, or cargo scheduling
  • Exposure to regulatory reporting in energy markets
