A respected professional services firm in downtown Houston is seeking an experienced Collections Coordinator to join their accounting team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a professional environment, enjoys building relationships internally and externally, and can confidently partner with attorneys and leadership to manage aged receivables and collections activity.
? Location: Downtown Houston
? Schedule: 4 days in office / 1 remote day
? What You’ll Do:
✔ Manage aged AR and collections follow-up for client accounts
✔ Partner closely with attorneys to review aging reports and develop collection strategies
✔ Communicate professionally with clients regarding outstanding balances and payment arrangements
✔ Research and resolve billing discrepancies, payment issues, and account questions
✔ Prepare collection activity reports and support month-end AR processes
✔ Maintain accurate documentation and follow-up schedules within the accounting system
? What We’re Looking For:
• 5+ years of accounting, AR, bookkeeping, or collections experience
• Prior law firm or professional services collections experience strongly preferred
• Strong communication skills with the confidence to work directly with attorneys and leadership
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and professionalism
• Experience with legal billing/accounting systems preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software
