Job Description

We are seeking a talented and experienced Civil Site Designer or Civil Engineer to join our growing team. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong background in site civil design, including commercial development and K-12 projects. The successful candidate will have of experience in site civil design, with the ability to work independently and contribute effectively from day one.  Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop site plans for commercial and K-12 developments, focusing on grading, drainage, utility design, and site layout.
  • Utilize AutoCAD 3D to develop detailed civil site design drawings and plans.
  • Prepare and submit plans for permitting with Harris County and the City of Houston.
  • Work collaboratively with other engineers, designers, and project managers to meet project requirements and deadlines.
  • Create accurate cut-and-fill volume calculations using AutoCAD 3D (preferred but not required).
  • Generate standard plan and profile drawings to meet City of Houston standards.
  • Size site storm sewers and work with detention pond calculations and design for compliance with City of Houston and Harris County standards.
  • Assist with design analysis and provide support during construction administration as needed.
Qualifications:
  • 4 to 10 years of hands-on experience in site civil design, including site development for commercial and educational (K-12) projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 3D is required. Experience with AutoCAD for civil design projects is a must.
  • Experience with Harris County and City of Houston plan submittals and permitting processes.
  • Knowledge of basic storm sewer sizing and detention pond design, particularly within City of Houston and Harris County guidelines.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while effectively managing multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with clients, team members, and authorities.
