Bookkeeper/ Accountant-Houston, TX 77079 This position reports directly to the Executive Director concerning accounting, payroll, human resources, and office-related issues. Primary responsibilities include all accounting functions, HR, policies, and payroll. Responsibilities:
  • Process all financial transactions for Accounts Receivable from iMIS.
  • Post deposits/receipts, reconcile and maintain all business bank accounts, and change signature cards.
  • Maintain and reconcile all company credit cards and credit lines with vendors.
  • Process and ensure proper coding of payables, print checks, and make necessary online payments timely. 
  • Prepare Monthly Financial Reports in compliance with established policies and in accordance with GAAP accounting. 
  • Analyze revenues, expenses, cash flows, and balance sheets for accuracy and variances.
  • Present monthly Financial Reports for Board Meetings and any required Committee Meeting presentations.
  • Maintain company Fixed Asset and Depreciation Schedule.
  • Work with the Executive Director, Deputy Director, and Budget Committee chair, preparing annual and monthly budgets and forecasts.
  • Work with the Deputy Director to prepare event budgets.
  • Maintain an accurate filing and record-keeping system for all financial statements and company documents.
  • Prepare annual 1099/1096 forms in a timely manner.
  • Liaison with the local external auditor, prepare lead schedules and support, and review and verify audit report.
Qualifications:
  • Accounting Experience: 2-6 Yrs.
  • Accounting Degree or 5+ years progressive accounting experience
  • QuickBooks Desktop Proficiency 
  • Excel Advanced Proficiency 
  • Prior Management Experience
  • MS Office Proficiency
