Associate Attorney
Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Associate Attorney to join our growing personal injury practice. The ideal candidate is a skilled advocate with strong litigation abilities, excellent client communication skills, and a commitment to achieving outstanding results for injured clients. This position offers the opportunity to manage a diverse caseload while working collaboratively with experienced attorneys and legal staff.
Associate Attorney:
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of personal injury matters from intake through resolution.
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, settlement demands, and legal memoranda.
- Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
- Negotiate settlements with insurance companies and opposing counsel.
- Conduct client consultations and maintain consistent communication throughout the life of each case.
- Prepare clients and witnesses for depositions, hearings, and trial.
- Analyze medical records, accident reports, expert opinions, and other evidence.
- Coordinate with medical providers, expert witnesses, investigators, and other professionals.
- Develop litigation strategies and case evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with all court deadlines and procedural requirements.
- Maintain accurate and timely case documentation within the firm's case management system.
- Work collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to provide exceptional client service.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in the applicable jurisdiction and in good standing.
- 1–5 years of experience in personal injury litigation preferred (newly licensed attorneys with strong litigation experience through clerkships or internships are encouraged to apply).
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Excellent negotiation and courtroom advocacy skills.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
- Outstanding interpersonal and client service skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience handling plaintiff-side personal injury cases.
- Deposition and trial experience.
- Familiarity with insurance claims and settlement negotiations.
- Experience drafting demands and negotiating with insurance adjusters.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
