Job Description

A national litigation firm is looking for an associate attorney to join the Insurance Coverage and Litigation section of the firm. 

The Insurance Coverage and Litigation section focuses on defending insurance companies in bad faith, breach of contract, indemnity, property, and coverage lawsuits and declaratory actions. The attorneys in this position will handle the day-to-day aspects of insurance coverage and litigation cases including client meetings, reporting and investigation, and taking and attending depositions, hearings, mediations and arbitrations and/or trials. Depending on the size and exposure of the case, the candidate will independently handle the case or work closely with a partner.

  • 2 - 7 years’ experience
  • Working knowledge of state and federal civil procedure
  • Excellent advocacy and writing skills
  • Litigation experience, including taking and defending depositions, drafting and arguing motions, and attending mediations is preferred
  • Previous coverage experience, either in-house with an insurance carrier or with a firm, is strongly preferred
  • Valid Texas BAR license required
