Job Description
Our client in North San Antonio is currently seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounting Support Specialist to join their team and assist with various accounting tasks. This contract position will play a crucial role in supporting the division's operations accounting, with a primary focus on accounts payable, account coding, and billing decks. Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with accounts payable to ensure proper account coding and billing deck utilization.
- Assist in AFE (Authorization for Expenditure) and deck setups, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly accounting journal entries.
- Conduct AFE analysis and reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
- Record cost allocations and equipment billings accurately.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of company operations and cost accounting processes.
- Familiarize yourself with COPAS accounting guidelines.
- Emphasize expertise in joint interest billing processes.
- Undertake special projects as assigned by the accounting team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Previous experience in accounting support roles, preferably in the energy or related industry.
- Knowledge of COPAS accounting guidelines, with a focus on joint interest billing.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
