Accounting Manager - Houston, TX  77002 The Accounting Manager will support the Firm-Wide Accounting Department. This position will report to the Controller and will be based in Houston.  

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting and analysis
  • Record journal entries monthly and assist with month end close
  • Approve reimbursement requests and firm expense requests/invoices and properly code expenses for Accounts Payable
  • Approve client charge check requests, client charge reimbursements and trust check requests
  • Send credit card statements to Managers and work with Accounts Payable on coding and processing
  • Prepare monthly sales & use tax returns for various states
  • Assist with annual budget process
  • Review budget reports and assists other departments to prepare annual budgets
  • Work with Accounts Receivable Collection team on past due accounts
  • Ensures that financial reports comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards
  • Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
  • Complies with local, state, and federal government requirements
  • Coordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software systems; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software
  • Assist with accounts receivable, accounts payable and billing as needed
  • Assist with special projects/duties as assigned by Controller

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Business Administration required
  • Minimum of five (5) years or more of related experience required
  • Certified Public Accountant designation preferred
