Job Description
Accounts Payable Clerk
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Full cycle accounts payable processing, including matching, coding and posting.
- Maintain complete and accurate vendor files, including 1099 requirements.
- Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice; recording entries. Verify accuracy of invoices.
- Input payment data into accounts payable system.
- Coordinate weekly check run, pull invoices, match, print and mail.
- Pays employees by receiving and verifying expense reports; preparing checks/direct deposits.
- Research discrepancy accounts.
- Reconcile vendor statements.
- Answer inquiry calls on outstanding and paid invoices.
- Reports sales taxes by calculating requirements on paid invoices.
- Process year end 1099s.
- File Unclaimed Property Report.
- Order office supplies for corporate office and remote Branches
- Maintain the Fixed Assets.
- Backup Temp Payroll and Temp Verifications.
- Backup Billing and Accounts Receivable.
- Conducts cost analysis, comparison and research.
- Statistical reporting.
- Assist as needed, in month, quarter and year end closing process.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
1 1+ years accounts payable or general accounting experience.
2 Knowledge of general accounting principles and procedures.
3 10-key.
4 Detail oriented and have the ability to multi-task.
5 Ability to prioritize projects.
6 Ability to meet deadlines.
7 Strong problem-solving skills.
8 Self starter who is highly organized and able to make logical decisions.
9 Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook.
11 QuickBooks, Sage experience a plus.
12 Excellent written and oral skills.
