Job Description

Are you a detail-oriented individual with bilingual proficiency and a knack for insurance coordination? Join our team as an Insurance Coordinator, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring seamless communication between patients, insurance carriers, and our Business Office. If you have experience in insurance verification and a solid background in customer service, we want to hear from you! As an Insurance Coordinator, you will be responsible for:
  • Conducting insurance verifications for various medical exams, including screenings, diagnostics, bone density, and biopsies, as well as any add-on services for SE, RG, and Mobile units.
  • Assisting patients by addressing their inquiries related to insurance coverage, outstanding balances, and accepted insurance providers.
  • Entering accurate insurance billing information into our billing system for SE, RG, and Mobile services upon receipt.
  • Obtaining necessary referrals and authorizations in compliance with insurance company requirements.
  • Collaborating with front desk personnel to ensure the accurate collection of copayments, co-insurance, and deductibles from patients.
  • Ensuring timely and precise responses to patient calls while maintaining a high standard of customer service.
  • Verifying the accuracy of information input and conducting research when necessary to provide comprehensive responses.
  • Liaising with insurance providers to determine the necessity of referrals or authorizations and procuring them as needed.

To excel in this role, you will need:
  • Fluency in both English and [Second Language].
  • A minimum of one year of recent experience in insurance verification, including online verification through platforms like Availity and making calls to insurance carriers.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to handle patient inquiries with empathy and professionalism.
