Job Summary
The Legal Assistant/Paralegal position supports the attorneys by drafting, reviewing and revising documents, assembling and organizing information, e-filing, and providing administrative oversight for a wide range of matters for the Firm’s water district and other land development clients.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Board meeting preparation, attendance, and follow-up to include preparation and posting of agendas, meeting documents and meeting minutes, and post-meeting follow-up
• Construction contract review and administration, including bond and insurance review, contract progress tracking and close out
• Preparation of documents related to the issuance of public securities (bonds)
• Real estate conveyances related to public infrastructure projects
• Federal and State regulatory compliance administration and tracking

Required Qualifications
• College Degree
• Working knowledge of Adobe, Microsoft Office Suite – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills
• Good time management and tracking skills
• Ability to work independently
• Organized and detail-oriented
• Must take initiative
• Ethical/confidential (must sign confidentiality agreement)

Preferred Qualifications
• 3+ years legal assistant experience working with a large firm
• 3+ years’ experience with digital file management systems such as NetDocuments
• 3+ years legal assistant experience working with Texas water districts
• Working knowledge of web-based file sharing systems including DropBox, OneDrive and SharePoint
• Experience with billing software such as Clio, ProLaw, LeanLaw or Bill4Time
• Research experience in WestLaw, LexisNexis or similar software
Working Conditions/ Physical Requirements
This position requires working in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners and filing cabinets.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to talk and hear, as well as stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and lift supplies as heavy as a standard-sized box of paper files.
Some local travel may be required. Other minimal in-state travel is optional.
Hours

This is a full-time position with benefits. Additional details will be given upon interview. Operating hours are 8:00am -5:00pm Monday – Friday.
